Well after all the fun of the internet, the CD [In Days of Old] arrived this morning and I have listened to it. 3820 on Hawkmount - whoever the driver was certainly had that engine well notched up! Climbing a 1in 44 like that is quite incredible! What a pity those C38s weren't 3 cylinder machines!
The blast of 6042s exhaust in tunnel one is quite something.
Brought back memories as I've done about 1000miles behind garratts in Africa and 99% of that on regular trains not specials. I just hope the folks on that special on Cowan bank had the wit to put up the carriage windows before the tunnels as sitting on chunks of coal isn't too comfortable! All in all a very enjoyable listening experience. I was particularly interested to hear what a pair of AD60s sounded like! Very fine! I noted the squeak of fright of the field mouse in track 1! Well I've got another welcome addition to my collection.

"Keep up the good work."

"My father and I have thoroughly enjoyed the first production in "Rhapsody in Steam". All of the sounds were great but we especially enjoyed the onboard sound as the train gathered momentum and the sound of the wheels clattered over the joints in the short lengths of rail was an absolute beauty. It reminded Dad and I of the sounds you hear on board the "Southeren Encounter" tourist train which runs from Mount Barker to Victor Harbour. I also remember flinching and ducking my head when the overhanging branch struck your microphones! Great stuff - although I hope the 'mikes' weren't damaged? Truly a great piece of work and it now holds a proud place amongst my CD and cassette tape collection of steam sounds.
Any plans for future releases on CD? I'll definitely look forward to that! Once again, congratulations on the brilliant production of the first CD."

"Thanks for the CD you sent last week. It's fantastic."

"The CD [Symphony of Steam] has stayed at the high standard that you set with "Rhapsody of Steam". The quality of the sound recordings was excellent and the way the tracks were mixed was fantastic.
With your eyes closed, listening through headphones, one can imagine the train moving from one side to the other. I also liked the other sounds picked up, such as flora and fauna, and the rain falling.
What is also excellent are the detailed and descriptive line notes, which increases the enjoyment of listening.
I look forward to any further CD releases."

"I am writing to you after recently purchasing your CD 'Rhapsody in Steam'.
I would like to say what a fantastic CD it is. The quality of the recordings is fantastic. If one closes your eyes, you can almost imagine the various engines going past. I have been fortunate to have been on tours featuring both 3801 and 5910, so listening to the CD brings back some great memories.
I hope that you will produce some more recordings. If you have a mailing list, please add my name to it, so that I can be made aware of any future releases."

"I enjoy this compact disc greatly. You and your team are to be congratulated for the result. Please consider this as an order for one copy of your next release of "Symphony of Steam" and your advice of its release date would be greatly appreciated."

B.S., Bulli NSW

"I would like to say that the first CD was a brilliant and joy-to-listen-to recording. And it is going to be hard for "Symphony of Steam" to beat it.
Keep up the excellent work and high quality of recording and you'll have me as a customer forever."
