But here are a few frequently-asked questions that may help.

Are your CDs professionally-manufactured
or home-made CD-R discs?

All of our discs are professionally stamped and manufactured within Australia by Australian companies to maintain our high standards. While it is easy for companies to use CD-R (CD-Recordable) discs, our experience is that CD-R discs do not play well in all CD players, particularly cheaper portable models. Nor do they last as long. 
That's why our discs are professionally-manufactured.

Do your CDs have background music?

Absolutely not! Why add anything that would spoil the "music" of the surroundings, and the engines themselves, doing what they do best?
We're steam enthusiasts ourselves remember so you won't hear any cheesy music on our discs - that's a promise!

Do you plan to release any diesel CDs in the future?

No, our passion is steam and we intend to stay
a 100%-steam-only CD producer.

Will your CDs play in my DVD player?

Yes, our CDs will play in any DVD player bearing the Compact Disc-Digital Audio logo.

What is the best way to listen to your CDs?

Ideally, either with good-quality headphones (not budlets) or a quality hi-fi stereo system with at least 10-inch woofer drivers. The only warning we give is don't turn these recordings up to loud - you might give the neighbours a fright! (At least warn them first...)

Do you use digital enhancements on your CDs?

While digital effects and enhancements are almost overused on many of today's music CDs, we aim to keep the use of these to the absolute bare-minimum - certainly no echo or delay effects are used. 
On some occasions, we may use some noise-reduction or filtering effects to remove wind pops but only if we think it enhances a particular track.
Otherwise, what you hear is the way it happened.

Do your CDs have too many whistles?

Australian drivers tend to lean less often on the whistle cord than drivers in the US so you'll hear less of them 
in our recordings to start with.
But when you do hear them, they just add that special touch.
When it comes to whistles, we think "less is more".

Do you plan to release more CDs soon?

Yes, planning has begun for FRCD004 and we're looking to extend our collection to around three CDs per year.
